I love the look of paper bag waist shorts, pants and skirts and my daughter loves dresses, so naturally I decided to combine the two :)
I bought a couple of plain tanks (only $3 each!!) and knew that I wanted to fashion some sort of skirt to attach to the bottom of each one in order to make a simple dress. You may remember this circle skirt that I sewed to one of her old t-shirts?? Well, it is her absolute favorite dress....she wants to wear it nearly every day, without fail.....so I knew I had to make more!
Oh....and her other absolute favorite thing at the moment? Yes, temporary tattoos :) Every night, we have to be SUPER careful to wash AROUND the tattoo.....and we can't declare it old (and ready to wash off completely) until there is only a flake or two left of the original tattoo....it's great.... :)
I just love how the paper bag waist looks! It almost looks like a skirt and shirt separate, but the great thing about it, is that her shirt will never come untucked....because it's really a dress! :)
So she can still be her crazy, grass-rolling, dog chasing, frisbee throwing self and not have to always be tugging, pulling or adjusting her clothes!!
Ah, my baby is getting so big....I just love her!
